“曦” is the first light of morning; “元” is the beginning of all things; “造物” is the Chinese way of speaking about nature, craft, and time — with patience. Together the four characters mean: to shape the light of nature into objects that stay with you, the Eastern way.

Our studio sits in the waterways of Jiangnan. No stockpiling, no livestreaming — each week we read the stone, the craft, the cutting and the polish, so the hand returns to the object itself.
